O’Neill is a Californian surf, snow and lifestyle brand. This spring, a global campaign has been launched to introduce the new O’Neill boardshort: the Hyperfreak. Icemedia developed an augmented reality surf game; an interactive and refreshing advertising method.






CAMPAIGN

Become a surfer and surf on a virtual 3D wave with this augmented reality application! The player keeps the O’Neill advertisement (marker), which can be found in various magazines or printed from the website, in front of his webcam. A virtual surfer and wave will then appear on the screen. By moving the marker, the surfer on the screen moves and can really surf on the wave. The longer a user manages to surf well, the higher the score. The player with the highest score wins a trip to the World Championship surfing in Hawaii! Click here to play the game!
